Knowing this will give you a better understanding of the concept and insight into the rationale of why you should Lead From Your Current Position\u00ae\u2026 and maybe inspire you to contribute your thoughts here.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">What is our\u00a0duty?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Developing this concept is deeply personal. In my journey through life, I\u2019ve consistently sought to identify my purpose\u2026 to identify my duty.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the preparation my parents and schooling provided me, I\u2019ve been fortunate to serve in one of the greatest leadership apprenticeship programs in the world: serving in the United States Army. A Retired Army Officer, my military career spanned 24 1\/2 years, where I served in a variety of positions as an Airborne Infantry and Attack and Cavalry Aviation Officer. I had the privilege of leading five platoons and commanding two companies, as well as an ROTC battalion. Additionally, I taught at the Aviation Captain\u2019s Career Course, the United States Military Academy (West Point), and Indiana University (Bloomington).<\/p>\n<p>Always a Soldier, I\u2019ve spent my entire life inquiring about leadership and learning. This has continued since I transitioned from military service.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The Answer<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The answer to the\u00a0question of my duty, as it developed over the years, became very clear: <strong>Lead From Your Current Position\u00ae<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<span class='bctt-click-to-tweet'><span class='bctt-ctt-text'><a href='https:\/\/x.com\/intent\/tweet?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2F1wWyJCv&text=The%20answer%20to%20the%20question%20of%20my%20duty%20became%20very%20clear%3A%20Lead%20From%20Your%20Current%20Position%C2%AE%20%23LFYCP%20%23Leadership&via=waynepollard76&related=waynepollard76' target='_blank'rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The answer to the question of my duty became very clear: Lead From Your Current Position\u00ae #LFYCP #Leadership <\/a><\/span><a href='https:\/\/x.com\/intent\/tweet?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbit.ly%2F1wWyJCv&text=The%20answer%20to%20the%20question%20of%20my%20duty%20became%20very%20clear%3A%20Lead%20From%20Your%20Current%20Position%C2%AE%20%23LFYCP%20%23Leadership&via=waynepollard76&related=waynepollard76' target='_blank' class='bctt-ctt-btn'rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Share on X<\/a><\/span>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The Distinctions of Lead From Your Current Position\u00ae\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>I began to discover and refine the distinctions of the phrase.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Lead<\/strong><\/span> = <em><strong>Contribute to an environment where others flourish<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>From Your<\/strong><\/span> = <strong>From\u00a0<em>Your\u2026<\/em><\/strong> NOT from somebody else\u2019s (you have everything you need\u2026 even permission to act)<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Current Position<\/strong><\/span> = <em><strong>Geographic Location<\/strong><\/em> NOT title<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What if we all simply did our duty (<strong>LEAD\u2026 contribute to an environment where others flourish<\/strong>) right where we are now (our current geographic location)\u2026 and didn\u2019t wait for some future event\/achievement or permission from others. I\u2019m completely devoted to living and sharing this idea.
